Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Holistic Therapist (Massage, SomatoEmotional Release, Craniosacral Therapy)

Darren is a dedicated practitioner of Iyengar yoga since 2000. He found yoga through debilitating hip and back pain of which he no longer suffers. He has been invited to teach workshops for various Iyengar Institutes and his yoga retreats are always well received.

Students enjoy his classes because of his intuitive sense in making individual adjustments that just feel right. They also find his classes challenging but fun and his sense of humour helps to keep the momentum and class camaraderie.

He sees yoga as a way to peace, health and happiness. The subject is vast but Darren’s focus is on aligning the body, first from the outside as a beginner then towards the core as a more experienced practitioner. He uses and adapts a variety of asana (postures) to bring awareness and sensitivity to the student. Suppleness is a benefit of practicing yoga but will not necessarily bring you peace or health, the key is alignment, then freedom of the breath will follow.
